For the Timeline, see Modern Warfare Timeline. Modern Warfare is a sub-series of the Call of Duty franchise from Activision. Modern Warfare was created by Infinity Ward, and currently consists of four games, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was released on November 5. COD: Modern Warfare players can breathe easy, as all signs point to at least a Season 7. How this affects Warzone is really unknown at this point, as the word going around is a link to Black Ops.

Modern Warfare has hosted several seasons, currently sitting at Season 6. The original end date of the latest season was extended from its original conclusion on November 23rd to align with the debut of Black Ops Cold War's first season in early December. However, Black Ops Cold War has just delayed Season One by a week, now planned to start on December 16th.

Despite Modern Warfare's battle pass still showing it coming to a close by December 8th, it looks like the next season will also shift back by one week to join Black Ops Cold War and Warzone in Activision's pursuit of establishing continuity across all three offerings. Unsurprisingly, details on Season 7 are scarce, as Activision is primarily focusing on marketing the inaugural season of Black Ops Cold War.

The exact contents and general info about what the future holds for Modern Warfare are relatively unknown. It is possible that December 16th reveals the end of Modern Warfare's standard seasons once Black Ops Cold War and Warzone join forces alongside the merged battle pass. Da fat a ntfs.

What we do know is that Modern Warfare will receive an update over the course of the next week in the lead up to Black Ops Cold War Season One. Although very little was provided in the way of specifics, Activision did label the impending update as a 'content update.' We cannot confirm whether this update is related to the 30+ Black Ops Cold War weapons and blueprints being integrated into Warzone or if it is specific to Modern Warfare.

Activision has instructed players to keep an eye on the Call of Duty blog as well as the publisher and developer's social media profiles. With not much time left in the countdown, we should be receiving concrete details on the future of Modern Warfare's seasonal structure very soon.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 6 has finally been revealed, and there are big changes in store for Warzone and competitive multiplayer. The news was announced via an Activision blog post Tuesday afternoon.

The main feature of Season 6, as detailed in the trailer above, is that Ferah and Nikolai have joined Captain Price in an effort to investigate the breakdown of Armistice. As a result, both characters from the Modern Warfare campaign will soon be making their way to the rest of the game. Illustrated in the screenshots below, these premium skins have multiple styles featuring casual wear, tactical gear and a mixture of both arrangements.

In addition to the new cosmetics, it looks like the Warzone map will also be getting a bit of an underground makeover as well. The season's two protagonists have somehow found their way into the Verdansk subway system, which strongly implies a huge network of underground tunnels will be added in the space below the arena that fans currently know. We've seen trains and an expanded Train Station make their way to the battle royale mode over the past few months, so pushing that concept even further with a full-blown subway makes sense.

Beyond those details, there's a lot we still don't know about Modern Warfare Season 6. Infinity Ward has teased that the forthcoming update will feature a Battle Pass with 100 tiers and 1,300 CoD Points, but it's unclear what additional rewards will be part of the purchase. There will be new weapons and multiplayer maps in the update, but we don't yet know what form that DLC will take. Some believe Nikolai may be carrying an AS VAL assault rifle in the trailer, but that has yet to be confirmed. For now, however, leaks suggest that may be the featured gun of Season 6.

What's perhaps most intriguing of all is what this new subway system might mean for Easter eggs coming to Warzone in Season 6. As we inch toward the release of Black Ops Cold War and a presumed Zombies reveal, will there be more for players to find in these uncharted tunnel depths? We'll have to wait till September 29 to know for sure!
