Last Terraria Update

Updated on 13 October 2020 You'd be well within your rights to think Terraria had finally finished updating earlier this year, as developer Re-Logic declared May's big content update was the game's.

The game content described below is still in development.
This information pertains to features not yet included in the game, and is subject to change.
They may or may not end up in a future Terraria release.
  1. Terraria has released A Journey's End, its last major update with a changelog spanning 40 pages. A Journey's End adds over 1,000 new items, a bestiary for tracking and cataloging the game's many enemy mobs, an overhaul of the at-times frustrating NPC system, and more.
  2. The Desktop version of Terraria refers to the Windows, Mac, and Linux desktop computer versions. These versions are produced entirely by Re-Logic, Terraria's original developer (whereas the current Console version is being worked upon by DR Studios, a third-party developer.) Because of this, updates always come to the Desktop version first. All three desktop versions are on the same update.

1.4.2[edit | edit source]

The image used in the forums post announcing Steam Workshop support.

1.4.2 will feature Steam Workshop support for Texture Pack and world sharing[1]. It currently has no set release date.

Players will be able to publish their Texture Packs and worlds to the Workshop via an in-game menu. Through this menu, players can select a custom icon, set the visibility to public, friends only, or private, and choose tags from a preset list.[2]

The final update to Terraria is here, and it's a huge one.

While Terria is often compared to Minecraft, AKA, the 2D Minecraft, we should definitely give the game the respect it deserves.

Terraria console newest update

Terraria will be going through its final major content update for the game, dubbed Journey's End. For those who don't remember, the game was released back in 2011. Many updates later, the Re-Logic has decided that they'll be releasing their last update.

Whether they just want to cash out before they start losing profits, or have dwindling sales numbers, both Terraria and Minecraft are both not as popular as they once were.

This was revealed at E3 and will add over 800 new items for players to discover in the huge world. Re-Logic has stated that this update will rework over pretty much every part of the game and released a trailer to detail some changes.

Journey's end will bring many updates to the game, including new modes, weather, block swapping, the void vault, and even random minigames.

Re-Logic hasn't told us everything yet, but just from the trailer, we can see pretty cool things about what to expect.

They kind of want to just update the game and leave it in a good place. They'll also add new foes to fight and new challenges. They're working world generation, such as adding new biomes and Bestiary data. This data book logs everything about enemies in the game and their drops.

It's sad that Terrari won't be updating anymore after this, even though we're unsure why exactly. What if this update brings life back to the game? Will they continue releasing more updates? Will this really be the end of Terraria? Is this just to gauge market demand?
